Political Issues
Like everyone else I want to see proper funding for Schools, Police and Fire. Crime and vandalism is high on that list. What people need to know is a lot of effort was made in creating the Master Plan for Mountain House. Builders provide income for the city through building permits and other service fees and that with some other income provide the bulk of the budget.
From what I heard in the last meeting and going through the budget (a handout still reviewing) I think that the city is on the right track. I know everyone wants shopping and restaurants among other things but the builders own the land and want to make sure they get the most value for it. Being in the construction industry I see this all the time especially now with a slumping housing market.
I can tell you that most of the builders I work with have switched to building apartments and are waiting to see what happens in the election before committing more resources to condos and houses. If the election is favorable to these builders and the policies they create they will start to build again and a shopping center will come sooner that later.
We need to look for assets that Mountain House can provide to entice Safeway or other large retailers to want to come to Mountain House. If I am elected I will try to promote those assists and create new ones so retailers will want to set up shop here.

As some of you know we had a candidate forum. It was kind of like the 2 minuet drill in football but after watching the video I wanted to better clarify some of my answers. Here are some of the issues and future plans I would like to see in MH.
A. Parks & Recreation 1. Some alternative energy supplements 2. A skateboard and BMX bike park 3. Sports complex with batting cages (a request from someone)
B. Calpine plant 1. Work with officials to better understand the concerns of MH residences. 2. Suggest some alternatives so both sides can be satisfied.
The next forum is coming up this Thursday; I hope to see all of you.
Tim
